The Cyber Divisions Project organized with many volunteers a workshop in Jinja, Uganda for women and girls that wanted to learn how to code and make websites & mobile apps. The workshop was graced with 40 women that were eager to learn and to explore different aspects of programming, robotics and security. None of these girls had come across such an opportunity to attend an event like this. From ArtsSEC we started to support The Cyber Divisions two years ago sharing knowledge and materials for the communities.
CharruaCon is a security conference, held in Montevideo, Uruguay. ANTEL's bulding. CharruaCon is celebrating the 2nd Edition. It is a free event, which will be held in 2 days, May 24-25th, 2018. During May 15-16th, at the University of Palermo will be held the h4ck3d security conference, with two days of talks, with different topics. We will participate as speakers, together with other information security specialists. ArtsSEC participated in a new edition of OWASP Latam Tour in Buenos Aires. Maxi Soler, talked about Content Security Policy: common mistakes and lessons learned. The event was held at the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional. Students, developers, computer security experts and curious in general, shared with the OWASP community a new event. It was a full day of technical talks, in a relaxed and ideal environment to meet other people interested in application security. Argentina had 3 editions, Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Patagonia.

8dot8 Lucky was the 7th Edition of the largest and oldest Computer Security Conference in Chile. This year the event was held during October in 4 countries, being Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Uruguay. BHack Conference is an Information Security conference in Brazil that celebrates its 5th edition. The event will be held in Belo Horizonte and is consolidated in the national scenario as one of the most important annual conferences. ArtsSEC is sponsoring ROOTCON 11, the real hacking conference in the Philippines. ROOTCON 11 will be held in Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay on September 21-22, 2017. Internet Day offers a congress, exhibition area with news, demos of products and services, also includes workshops and many other activities related to the Internet industry. We will participate moderating the debate about Cybercrime, as an activity of the moment in a digital economy. The debate will help to understand the risks, challenges and what is possible to do. SASO Conf is a computer conference held in Curuzu Cuatia (Corrientes, Argentina). It offers topics related to open technologies, network and computer security. The event has two full days of activities and has become a reference in the region. ArtsSEC will be participating in the next OWASP Latam Tour, in Buenos Aires, Argentina next Friday 28 April 2017. The event will have talks with the following topics mobile applications, NoSQL, hardening Wordpress, BB84, SDLC, HTTP/2 and more. The objective is to raise awareness about application security in the Latin America region, so that people and organizations can make informed decisions about true application security risks. Everyone is free to participate in OWASP and all of our materials are available under a free and open software license.
ArtsSEC is supporting Cyber Divisions, a Non Profit Designed to Spread Information Security Education through learning programs, awareness, competitions, mentorship to identify and enable Africa's poorest Citizens to become cyber defenders that will protect Africa's Infrastructure. Marcos García (ArtsSEC – CEO) and Emiliano Piscitelli (VHGroup – CEO) will talk about “Security with Open Source Tools” in the VII National Meeting of Technicians of CABASE, held on 31st March and 1st April. They shall introduce the most common tools to perform Penetration Tests; how to mitigate said attacks; and best practices to avoid them. As usual, the event will gather the leading figures of Internet of our country, who will dissertate on Security, Internet of Things (IoT), IPv6, VOIP, Cyber Crime, OSPF, MPLS and VPLS in Mikrotik, among others.
The IAE Business School has a Program Management for Small and Medium Business (DPME), which consists of intensive training to strengthen management skills and abilities. The companies Kinkaya, VHGroup and ArtsSEC were invited at a breakfast organized by IAE Business School with the aim of sharing knowledge. Our contribution was related to the Digital Transformation and the aspects of Information Security. It was a very fun and dynamic talk where we were able to exchange experiences and the attendees answer their queries and learn more about infosec.
EKOParty takes place annually in Buenos Aires. In this event, attendees, guests, specialists and references on the subject from around the world, have the opportunity to engage with the latest technological innovations, vulnerabilities and tools, in a relaxed environment of knowledge sharing. After participating in Chile’s 6th Edition, called "Resistencia" of 8.8 Computer Security Conference, we were invited to dissertate in Bolivia, in the city of La Paz, where the country’s 2nd edition was held. We shared our experience on HTTP/2, how it works, the benefits related to performance, improvements and differences from HTTP/1.1; finally, important considerations about its implementation, potential attacks and vulnerabilities found in this binary protocol. The conference gathered CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, ISOs, sysadmins, system architects, developers, specialists, consultants, students, hackers and geeks.
It had been a while since our last visit to Brazil. In this occasion we dissertated in the oldest Latin American event, the Hackers 2 Hackers Conference (H2HC), in San Pablo. This event gathered different researchers from the corporative world, research groups, underground communities and more. We were present to talk about HTTP/2, blow the dust off our Portuguese, and review the RFC 7540 that brings life to this new binary protocol. We presented its characteristics, differences from its previous version and new vectors of attack for this Internet protocol.
8.8 Computer Security Conference, is a computer security conference with several editions, organized in the beautiful city of Santiago, Chile. Its 6th Edition, called "Resistencia", was held in October 20-21, 2016. The attendees of this event were renowned local and international lecturers. It is considered the only 100% technical conference of this country. Maxi Soler, our CTO, attended the conference and shared his experiences about the HTTP/2 protocol, through his speech of "Knowing Security of HTTP/2", including multiplexing, HPACK, header compression, server push and more.
